Hey everyone! Happy New Year! I cannot believe we are already halfway through the 2019-2020 school year! As we get a strong start to the second semester, please keep in mind all of the things that are offered through the my role as the school counselor.
- Individual counseling
-Small group counseling
-Monthly Guidance lessons
-Support team and 504 team coordinator
-RTI2B team leader
-Cultural Competency team member
-Consultation with parents, teachers, and students
-Creating individual behavior support plans
-Referrals for community mental health resources

Mission Statement
The mission of the school counseling program is to implement a comprehensive developmentally appropriate, and supportive program that ensures future success in the realms of academic, career, and personal/social domains. Collaborating with parents, teachers, administrators, and other important stakeholders, school counselors will assist all students in a diverse and changing world to be exceptional individuals.
Vision Statement
The vision of Coopertown Elementary is to help prepare and motivate students to be life-long learners by providing a comprehensive school counseling program that is challenging, goal-oriented, and intrinsically motivating to shape all students to become productive students and citizens.
Beliefs
1. All students are able to achieve academic excellence that will prepare them for success in the future.
2. Students’ needs are met by creating developmentally appropriate curriculum lessons.
3. School counselors play a role as advocates in that they lead and work along side stakeholders to ensure that all students’ needs are being fulfilled.
4. Professional school counselors along with teachers, parents, administrations, and the surrounding community work together to implement a comprehensive school counseling program that maximizes student achievement.
5. School counselors ensure that the ASCA Ethical Standards will be reflected in decision making to promote success for all students.
